portable air compressors

hi,
i have used the search and cannot seem to find any info so need some advice please.
I'm after a portable air compressor to re-inflate my tyres. I have looked on various websites and the price range is huge. Not really interested in fitting a permanant one as we don't really do that much offroad but do plan to visit out local sand/beach a fare few times.
Can anyone recommend a decent one for not to many $ that will do the job. Is there anything i need to look for in terms of functions etc,
and i am presuming i need to good pressure gauge with the screw on attach. for deflating easier.
any help appreciated.

The bushranger range of compressors have served me well, i have a Max air, pumps up the tyres real quick.

what to look for is a compressor with a good duty cycle and a good litre per minute flow rate. i have a Dr air bushpig, its made by haigh and cost around $180. flows 72 tlr min and will pump a 265/65/17 from 15psi to 35 psi in around 3.5 min. it comes in a hard plastic case, has sand tray a 6m coil hose with built in gauge. i have mine mounted under the bonnet. while it doesnt cost half the price of some of the other brands i have had it for 3years and its still going strong. one of the best devices for deflating tyres is staun tyre deflators, they just screw on to ya valve an deflate to the desired pressure. they r adjustable to suit your pressure. thats my 2 cents. cheers samo

yeah bushranger <max air > works real well have had mine for
about 31/2 to4 years have dun alot of tyres with it, mine and mates cars
would remand buying one any day
