Narva LED lights that fit in the fog surrounds are heinously expensive. The DRLs (decadent retired lizards) not so much.

Hopefully the wiring loom is more reliable than the old ARB job. I've ended up re-wiring mine right from the lamp to the top of the Tojo loom. Both sides suffered from the intermittent gremlin. But a replacement for the old lights will save me the big job of filling in the entire fog light/indicator/park light hole with a piece of steel in order to fix some LED lights that have been sitting in the tool box for about 18 months. The fog lights can go, after 5 years and 2 sets I have never used them.

Hi D4D, yep the indicator/park light will work with the IPF fog fitted bars.

I don't have any pics of the lights on but will endeavour to take some of our new 150 when the engineers are finished with it.

          Cheers, Sam.

Sam thanks for the pic. Can you please tell me the distance between the mounting holes? I can measure up the others and see.

              thanks

Oh, silly me, are you saying replacement of the pathetic fog light is not part of the upgrade?

                  Hi,

This is my first post in a forum so I hope this is not a hijack, please tell me if it is and I will put this mod on another thread…

I installed some LEDautolamp indicator and clearance lamps to solve the ARB lights issue. Very easy to do and worked out to be about $40.00 so is a good option if you are on a budget.

                  Parts:
                  • 2x White LED Front end outline marker Light 12V/24V (LEDAutolamps part number 35WM or 58WMB)
                  • 2x Amber LED Side direction indicator Light 12V/24V (LEDAutolamps part number 35AM or 58AMB)
                  • Some extruded aluminium
                  • Some solder

                  1. Cut some aluminium plate to size using the original lights as templates.
                  2. Used a punch to mark where the holes go and drilled.

                  3. Placed plates in situ and used the LED Autolamps light brackets to mark where the holes should go.
                  4. Drilled all the holes, plus some big holes where the wires will go through. Made them big enough so the wires won’t rub on the aluminium edges. Also cut and drilled some angled aluminium extrusion to add strength to the plates.

                  5. Painted the plates black then screwed in the LED Autolamps light brackets.
                  6. Clipped the lights into the brackets and soldered the wires to the loom's connector. White is the negative on LED Autolamps.
                  7. Screwed the completed bracket in place and clipped the wire connector to the main loom.

That is bloody awesome. I think that is the better and cheaper option than paying $90 for ARB lights. I can get the aluminium from the tip from some old ceiling fans...

Thanks guys. I appreciate the Rep points; don’t know what they are but they sound important.

Forgot to mention that the little posts the screws go into on the ARB bar’s plastic moulding need to be nipped back about 1cm so the aluminium light plate is flush with the plastic moulding. Shorter screws are also needed as the original ones are too long. This is no big deal, but I thought it worth mentioning. Hope this makes sense, see the pic to see what screws I am talking about.

As the Prado 150 mob also encounter the same issue with their ARB Bars, should I also post this in the equivalent Prado 150 thread? Probably unlikely they would look in the 120 threads for something like this.

Also, just fyi, LED daytime running lights aren’t my thing, but as I was putting the lights in I couldn’t help notice the blank area on the ARB Bar’s plastic moulding that would accommodate them very well. Sorry for the dodgy picture but you can see where I am talking about, it is the long blank spot just under the indicator and parker lights.

No, let's keep it a secret from them. That way they can pay for a more expensive fix.
