Morning folks!

Long time lurker (and second time poster!), wanting to kick off the greatest roof rack thread that PP has ever seen!

So, post away with pictures of your roof rack's - what works and what doesn't, feedback from your experiences of different manufacturers/models and helpful tips and tricks for those installing/using their own (for example, what NOT to throw off it, lest it damage your car - such as heavy firewood.... )

Arb steel 3/4 roof rack with arb awning off the left and TraxRax off the right, still trying to figure out how to mount a shovel holder without taking up to much room in the rack itself. . Haven't had any dramas with it to date other thank taking off some of the powder coating whist camping using ratchet straps that the hook was to small for the top posts...

The great roof rack thread!

Pioneer Platform mounted on Factory Roof Rails. Supapeg 2.5 x 2.0 awning on the passenger side and some other cool bracketey thingy's on the other for the MAXTRAX.

I couldn't find an off the shelf rack that was rack wide enough, or long enough so I just built my own.
Also made up a pair of roof rack ladders for each side so that it was a bit easier to get to everything I was carrying up there.
I included a mounting plate so that I could bolt down the spare tyre as well as lighting brackets on the front and rear for a light bar and working lights.
Have also made up my own high lift jack and shovel mounts as well as a couple of sets of universally adjustable MAXTRAX brackets.

That 2nd last pic, looks like the bolt is touching the paintwork?

The bolt is about 5mm off the paint work.
The brackets are adjustable up and down depending on how far the rack is from the roof.
