  • Black Widow Twin Draw System Installation Manual.

    Hi All

I'm thinking about purchasing a second hand BW Twin Draw System, however with BW in administration I don't think there will be much assistance there. So I'm chasing a copy of the installation manual, if there is one, from anyone willing to assist me. I would like to know what I'm up for installation wise should I purchase this draw.

Now that I've mentioned second hand BW twin draw I'm sure some of you will be trolling now!

    Thanks in advanced.

    Nicko

I have just had a look through my file and I can't find an install manual, only my receipt and their brochure.

They are pretty easy to install and if you had any specific questions I am sure I or others could help you out.

Just make sure you get the spacers that go under the drawers where they bolt down, those could be easily misplaced if someone has removed them.

    Cheers Andrew

      Thanks Andrew.

I'm assuming then the draw does not use any existing bolt holes or seat catches...etc and that new holes will need to be drilled with rivnuts installed?

Heh Heh - as Andrew stated should be a strait forward install, just ask the guy you want demo of the install in his or your car to ensure parts spacers etc included - would be a reasonable request for amount of $$$ you going to spend, and then having to chase up the missing bits afterwards with BW not around any more

I've already the Lifestyle rack (which don't think he makes any more) which I'm happy with

            Enjoy if you get it

              No they use existing holes.

From memory you remove the plastic surrounds around where the 3rd row seats lock in and there are some existing bolts holes in there you use. There might be some others as well, cant recall as its been quite a few years since I fitted mine.

I presume the drawers you are getting are out of a 120 Prado? If so it should be an easy job.

              Cheers Andrew

Thanks Andrew and Kim for your replies. Good to read "existing holes" to be used, I hate drilling extra holes into Prado.

Will see how the draws look in real life.

While you have the drawers apart for install check all the bearings out. They are just a normal sealed bearing, cheap from any bearing shop if one is a bit noisy, easy to replace too. The install should be pretty straight forward, I did the ones in my 150, took twice as long to pull the seats out as it did to install the draws.

                    Hi, my first post!!

I bought a secondhand set of Black Widow drawers for my 120 Prado just this week (a different set to the ones mentioned ) Prior to purchasing them the seller gave me a good run down of how they are installed. Turns out the GX proper base model never had rear seats so doesn't have bolt holes for them. Now searching for somewhere that will hire / loan me a nutsert 'gun' and I'll be drilling some holes. Hoping it will be a fairly simple install. Also came with a cargo barrier, top shelf and fridge divide (all Black Widow) so gets the back well set up.

Will start a Rig Build-up thread soon.

I googled and found "http://www.manualdisk.com/pdf-black/black-widow-storage-draws/"]http://www.manualdisk.com/pdf-black/black-widow-storage-draws/" Not sure if it works as I'm on a work computer and it blocks me due to 'Piracy / Copyright Concerns" 3 Links at the top

                    Cheers, Tony

Could I suggest you might want something a bit better than just Nutserts through the floor. I think in an accident they would tear straight out.

                      Cheers Andrew

Ok, I've never used them before. What would you suggest, bolts through the floor and large washers / plates underneath? I was planning on using 8 nutserts in the same location as the rear seat bolts. I'm away so can't have another look at the moment, will I have to drop the fuel tank to get access?

Large washers would be much better, or even a plate with nuts welded on if that is able to be fitted and you have the skills. With a nutsert you only have the strength of the steel in a small ring just around the nutsert where it crimps, they are convenient but not overly strong.

Plate with welded nuts sounds like a goer, thanks
