So Phil if you had your time again I assume you would have it fitted by others?

The leader of the opposition thinks it an expensive piece of black plastic and I was thinking of fitting it myself to reduce the ouch effect. The big hole's the scariest bit (I think).

Blimey, this thread has had over 5,000 views.

And did I hear someone once criticise pradopoint by saying: "Well pradopoint isn't exactly setting the world on fire."

      Pah.

      Good work team. :-)

        Tom,

Was that for the Cartier Edition Safari? Bloody hell!

You can do far better than that - unless they were getting the Queen herself to install it.

          Hey G-Man

Tom's real close to the mark on this one. I had my local TJM bloke quote me $700+ for an airtec fitted - that's why I've decided to go without one.

Welcome to the remotest capital city in the world :? where half the cost is just getting it here.

Still , I'm sure that somewhere around here someone has them at a decent price - or I'll buy one over east and fit it myself.

          Cheers

Strewth!! And I thought Sydney was the dearest place on earth.

That's why I tend to do a lot fo my big-ticket shopping outside Sydney.

My Deluxe Bar was going to cost me about 300 bucks more in Sydney. Hate to think what they're charging you blokes in the wild west...

That's why I'm telling the missus that I'm taking her on a holiday.

The real reason is so that I can visit some 4WD stores in the far east

              Cheers

K & N in Canningvale quoted $690 fitted & Southern Spirit in Malaga quoted $590 fitted. now it's getting better. that was for a diesel though, not sure if the petrol would be any different. cheers Tom

$550-600 is really what you should be expecting to pay fitted.

Booked mine in with TJM Newcastle for an Airtec Snorkel which cost $550 fitted.

I chickened out on fitting it myself. I can't bear the though of taking to Angus with a huge holesaw. I have nightmares about that stuff. ops:

Grant from TJM is a nice bloke, Pete.

Be interested to know what made you choose Airtec over Safari.

Yep, totally agree Grant is a super bloke. In fact they are all very friendly and helpful at TJM Newc.

My reason for choosing Airtec is that after reading heaps as to Safari or Airtec etc I decided there was not enough in it to prove one was better over the other. Even if there was it would appear to me to be very marginal.

Most seem to prefer and choose Safari because it has been around and is proven.

A large factor for me with the Airtec is they look soooooo much better than the Safari. Airtec hugs the vehicle better (IMHO). I don't like the Safari gooseneck.

                            I must agree Pete.

On aesthetics alone the Airtec is a much more streamlined unit.

It also helps if I can convince the missus to buy one because ...
                            a. It looks so much better.
                            b. It's sleek and subtle (a bit like me)

                            c. It prevents water damage to the engine
