  • Need help installing subwoofer!

    Hi all,

I need your help in two areas: finding a point for the ground cable in the rear of my SWB, the second is the location of the gommet in the firewall (preferably driver side) for the power cable to the battery. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

By ground point I take it you mean 12v power to an amp, if so why not run twin-core and earth back to the battery? - more a question for RanJ though.

In relation to the firewall grommet - its a big black round rubber thing, you cant miss it!
Perhaps post a photo of the firewall though.
      Cheers
      Micheal.

Found the grommet, thank you, that would be to route the power wire to the battery. I was asking about a possible grounding point near the wheel arch to save me from running a ground wire all the way to the engine department. Should I have to go that route, does the ground wire have to be a specific thickness? I never ran such a long ground wire before and wonder if it would be as effective as a short wire.

Your ground wire just has to be Back to the vehicle. No need to run back to the battery unless ur running seriously hardcore stuff. Find a nearby bolt and make sure u remove any paint to get a good connection. The ground wire should be similar thickness to your power cable for the amp

I could not get a wire thick enough, so I will have to look for one, it is working perfectly for now, although I did not have a clue how to run the cables to the back because I am unable to take out the interior panels in the back f the vehicle.... I just tucked them under the bottom of the rear interior panels. I have to find a way though because I intent on replacing the rear speakers in my SWB and I have no clue how to get to them. I do not want to break anything because these interior panels are one big piece and replacing them could cost a fortune.
