Looking at getting my 2004 Prado bullbar looked at by Toyota after reports that engine damage could be possible in water crossing as down to as little as 100mm(at speeds of above 30kph) . Apparently the installation of the bullbar resulted removal part of the linning in the wheel arch which allows water to flow up into the air intake. I have looked at mine and it is cut away and looks like a possible outcome. I know this has been discussed before but there is no feedback if Toyota has come to the party with any fix. Is there anyone in the same situation as me and has had Toyota look at this fault?
I am looking at getting a snorkel which will fix this but nevertheless looking at the cutout it just doesn't look good and a repair I beleive is still needed.
