Thats not really a sump gaurd.
The sump gaurd is further back.
I would like to replace the 2 gaurds behind that peice of chequer plate.
Has any one done that?.
Mine are coping a bit of damage. Even sand damages them.

Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

The answer is probably yes because the plastic won't have enough rigidity to resist any force, .... but, that doesn't mean its not possible that something else couldn't be sorted.
If you look at the second pic above you can see the end of the chassis rails on the left side and right so you could probably get bent up a couple mm thick steel bar rail to mount on the rail ends. This is where the bullbar mounts and also where the plastic bumper bracing mounts as well. The bar rail would need to be pretty stiff to avoid soft bending and vibration.
Then use this bar rail to mount a shorter plate with bent/raised front lip to at least give you some radiator protection behind the plastic bumper. The back end fits in between the existing protection plates and the cross rail.
