ARB Southern (VIC) is not owned by ARB hence they are cheap whereas ARB Brighton is owned by ARB...

I had my bar painted in two pac at a smash repairers, they sanded off the shine, put a primer on then the colour & clear, was on the car for 3 years before I sold it with no problems of rust or the paint peeling or coming off, the powerder coater we use for work also sprays 2 pac & has no problems in spraying the 2 pac over the powder coat.
From my experience I cant seem any reason why you cant paint 2 pac over powder coat

Hi blkmav90 - please see my previous post as quoted above. That's word for word what the ARB catalogue says... I am no expert in the field, but that's what their official literature says. Also, I think ARB actually bought Dandenong back from the previous franchisee. Either way, they came in way cheaper than Brighton, who quoted RRP and didn't budge. I reckon I'm pretty good at haggling, but it was like talking to a brick wall. So, they got a 100% of bugger all!

George_M - Many thanks for the reply. I'd forgotten they had a branch in Richmond too... Doh...

yetiboy01 - Thanks for the input - much appreciated and makes ARB's statement (as per my quote above) seem reasonable. Still, the bar's pretty much brand new, so I don't want to start shelling out for third party repairs. Had I gone off-road and put major damage to it myself I wouldn't even have started this thread, but would have probaly sought to do exactly what you did.

And thats how ARB in WA paint 'em, not sure on the rest of oz but can't see why it would be different seeing that the bars are all made in melbourne. The painting is not sub-contracted out at Osb Pk store, in house paint shop.

I stand corrected, had my colour coded bar fitted yesterday and can confirm via inspection of the bar it is painted over powder coat. This must have changed since my previous colour coded bar purchased in 2000.

                Deeptank,

Great post mate. This expecially appeals to me given that I will be having my colour coded ARB Deluxe bar fitted (hopefully) in the next fortnight.

I'll be interested to see what the bloke says when I ask him about this prior to fitting! Mine's purchased from an ARB agent, so not dealing with ARB themselves.

                Cheers,
                AJ

                  Hi all

I'm pretty new to pradopoint. I had a deluxe ARB bar fitted
back in mid april. Last week after washing the car poped
the bonnet and there was rust on the inside of the bar
where the weld are. Went back to ARB yesterday showed
the problem and agreed to replace it in 3 weeks. I got it
                  from ARB direct......

I've heard of a couple of bars being replaced due to rust now, I wonder what they do with them? Hope not a respray and sell to someone else as new!

                      Hi AJ,

can i ask what you payed for the colour coded bar and from which agent? I rang two stores today and they both gave the same price $2040.00  This is for a bar that will accept a whinch.

Not interested in doing a deal at all.

                      Cheers

                              hi lofty,

No. Sorry mate. I just priced the whole lot. But as someone
told me ARB will undercut their agents. From memory i
think they do the color code for free....

                              cheers....
