Removed my Grande Rails this morning with the assistance of this thread. Did manage to break a couple of the lugs though, guess I am a little heavy handed. One thing that worked quite well when removing my last cover (front left) was when you get the two near side lugs out/undone stick a piece of towel in between the metal base and the plastic to stop the lugs clipping back in. This allowed me to push down firmly on the inside and get the lugs out unscathed.

Set of 120 Rails Now available for sale. PM me with an offer.

Got mine off last night too thanks to this post - I have a set of roof rails for sale in Perth too! I'm still working up to that magical 15 post mark when I can post them in the For Sale section of PP.
      PM me pls

Just did mine, phew, no lugs broken. I must say that reading this and other threads scared the beejeesus out of me, but with your pictures and simple instruction it was dead easy. The pressure from the inside is the important thing, combined with the gentle prising from my 25mm paint scraper covered in insulation tape......now to fit the Rhino tray.
Anyone considering this job should follow Michael's simple instruction and have a look at his photos first - worked for my 120 series. Thanks again.

It's actually easier than it appears - when you flex the cover toward you and pry/twist with the blade, you can feel the catches go loose one at a time (there are 2 of them). Once the outside is clear, a bit of a wiggle and it will come free.

Bumpty bump bump, just used this awesome thread to remove the rails on my 150 gxl. Used post 15 method for front & rear + post 20 method for middle. All factory equipment escaped undamaged. Ps having left the car in the sun for a while seamed to help also.

Just fitted a rhino rack platform 42102 & six leg kit. Managed to get it for $900. The rhino rack platform no longer requires riveting, comes with three brackets per cross brace that clamp onto the north south beams

All though this thread is date it is still very relevant and thanks to Garry and others in doing the hard miles first.
Just followed the instructions and my ZR SWB is now free to get the new Tradesman Alloy I ordered today.
Thanks to all those who added their input.
