  • Grande Bluetooth Connection

    Hi Folks,

I picked up my new 120 series Grande in June. I was able to succesfully connect my Motorola RAZR flip phone and it worked perfectly. In August I was issued with a new Nokia 2760 from work, and when I tried to connect it all worked perfectly, except that when I answered a call no-one could hear me speak. After a frustrating couple of weeks I went back to my Motorola, only to find the same thing occur.

I have reset everything in the Prado back to default, and re-entered everything. It still doesn't work. Before I make myself look stupid at the dealers, has anyone else experienced the same problem, and is there a simple answer?

    Please help?

Johnboy when the phone is active ie a phone call the volume button for the radio becomes volume for the bluetooth, what is that set at, mine works good at around volume 7.

    Try that first.

      Thanks Hutch,

By default the volume is set at 5, but I have increased it to 7 but people still can't hear me - at all! It is as if the microphone is on mute, but it isn't!

        Re: Grande Bluetooth Connection

Johnboy i'm just curious if u ever got this issued resolved?

I originaly had my Nokia connected to the bluetooth and after a week or two of having telephone conversations cutting in and out and the frustration of not been allowed to dial whilst driving (I know it's illegal), i eventually got my old hands free car kit installed into my Grande. The HF car kit installer was telling me that car Bluetooth are crap, well he would say that anyway wouldn't he, after instalation of kit I'm happy again.

Recently my Nokia died and when i went to replace it the phone the outlet tells me that they no longer make Nokia car kits or phones to sit in the old kit as more and more cars are offering bluetooth, the irony of it all, so i got myself an iphone. Went to sync that with the car bluetooth and same problem as you. Ring out ok, hear ppl answer ok, but no-one can hear me!!!! i took it back to dealer and they reckon they have had that many problems with that model sat nav/ radio/ bt unit ( i have a 07 model) that they wont even bother looking and will just order me a new one under warranty......waiting.....still waiting.

While i grow old waiting for my new sat nav etc, i was curious to know if there is some quick fix?

            Re: Grande Bluetooth Connection

I have a 2008 GXL and I have a work Blackberry (or crapberry as everyone seems to call it). I am one the of the lucky few that has had no major problems with it. It connects to the Bluetooth without a problem, but only after I set it to connect automatically. At first it would ask me to accept the connection and if I didn't it would reset itself having me to go and find the original 4 digit sim card pin to be able use it.

My boss has a 2008 VX and his crapberry froze the first time while trying to connect to the point that out IT guys had to send it back to Telstra and get a replacement. It wasn't fixable.Mind you he is a little rough with them so our PA has 2 spares always in the draw ready - one a normal phone and one a spare crapberry thats come back from repair. We were actually laughing at that the other day while waiting for him in a meeting as he has had this one since before christmas. Almost a record.

I think it depends not just what type of phone you have, but also which batch and who drives it... Random luck or maybe the operator...
