  • Photo of cargo barrier ?

    Hi,
    I don't suppose anyone could post a photo of a good cargo barrier in a 120 series? The "finance department" has cut me off, and I thought I may make my own. In particular the it would be great to see the mounting points. It doesn't look too difficult, though I may regret saying that later :wink:

      :shock: Sorry, I say thats the dumbest idea I have heard all day!

      I dont mean to be rude, but I have seen the damage caused by inferior and home made cargo barriers!
      Like the traveller who ended up with a fully loaded engel in his lap from over the back, damn near killed him!

      You have a huge choice of barriers to buy from,

      Caddie (caddy?)
      Milfords
      Toyota
      Ausbarrier
      Black Widow (Not many knew they did them)

      Think of the future, buy a decent barrier! it may save your/others lives!

      As a note you sometimes see ones on ebay that are in good condition, well worth keeping an eye out for.
      Even new we are only talking what: $250-450?

        Well really its a bit of RHS and some mesh. But point taken, I will just go without until one comes along. Hope you guys never see the old 45!

            I bought a Milford and I'm not really impressed...

            It's is to tall (only on the bends at the top.. they are the wrong shape) and pokes into the roof lining (leaving a mark!) It's hard down against the floor so I can't see how the installation is wrong other than maybe laying it over at an angle... anyone got one in their current model Prado GXL (the Grande seems to need something different)

              I have heard they even help prevent roof cave-ins with roll overs :shock:

                HG, do you own a Grande?

                The grande needs a different barrier, and Milford DO NOT make one! That is probably your issue!

                  no, just a poverty pack GXL (appologies to any GX, or is it DX, owners, but me GXL doesn't even have lumber support on the drivers seat... maybe should have sold the No2 son to get a TX)

                    Mine is the half height barrier from Outback, same as my drawers. Only downside isthat you need the drawers as they are part of the securing mechanism. The plus is that I don't have to drill the car at all.



                    GXL, Petrol, 5Sp Auto, BFG ATs, OME Suspension, ARB Airlockers front and Rear, Barret 2050 HF radio and Autotune, GME 4400 UHF, Outback Drawers and cargo barrier, ARB colour coded steel bullbar and K&N steel rear step, roofrack, dual batteries, recovery gear, roof rack bag etc

                        covering cargo barrier

                        Ha sanyone covered there cargo barrier with a sheet of polycarbonate, or other hard plastiic, I'm curious as i'm thinking of installing one to make the air con more effective/faster, so it doesnt have to cool the whole interior?
