Cargo Barrier for Grande model

Hi

I recently fitted a cargo barrier to my GXL prado and it has done an excellent job keeping the gear in the back on a recent trip to QLD.
I bought the Toyota original barrier over the Milford as it was cheaper (and it has Milford all over the toyota barrier anyway

I am looking a buying a Grande model with the 5 speed auto box but I was wondering what the options are with Cargo barriers in this model (due to the lower roof and side airbags)

Doesn't the barrier potentially interfere with the operation of the Grande's curtain airbags?

That's what I was always led to believe...

According to Black Widow & Caddy No.

The gap on the sides would need to be a bit larger than normal and thats about it I suspect to allow the bag to deploy.
The mount points need to be back a bit to allow the bag to drop. Effectively yes the barrier could crush against the side of the vehicle in a rollover but the bag should deploy quicker than that would happen ?

After doing a few more searches (google is your friend ) I found the following

Be interested to see if it uses original mount points or you have to go drilling big holes into the vehicle?
I know Black Widow you dont have to drill any holes, but then again I think they only do a half barrier to suit their drawer systems.

Grande Cargo Barrier

All,

Just installed a set of Outback drawers, rear cargo barrier (half height) as well as divider and rack hanging from the rear hand grips.

Used all original holes in the body. No extra holes to be drilled.

03 Grande Model.

Total price $3000.00 supply only.

So yes an approved barrier can be fitted to a Grande.
