2004 GX Cruise option

Hey everyone,

I have had a bit of a search and i havent been able to find what i want so ill go ahead and ask.
I recently bought a 2004 GX auto but it doesnt have cruise control. is anyone arware of where i might be able to get my hands on one (hopefully a plug and play unit - but i am pretty technical so it doesnt have to be).

are there any nice after market ones or try and go original? your opinion.

Newton Toyota in Weshpool fitted after market cruise control to my GX.
The brand is Auscruise (by Autron) http://www.autron.com.au/

Thanks leachy, i think my closest dealer is just up the road in Port hedland - only 400km away how much did it set you back roughly? if you dnt mind.

Jono,

The only reason I had the dealer fit the cruise was because it was supplied as part of my novated lease. You should be able to order one and fit it yourself.
The price listed on my invoice was $587.

I have the same unit on my manual 2006 GX and couldn't be happier. Blood Toyota in Geelong fitted it after the existing one I bought it with didn't work properly. Don't know how much it was but it works very well.

Hi,
As a previous fitter of the Autron (Auscruise) units, I wouldn't recommend that you do it yourself.
This unit actually hooks up directly to the throttle potentiometer electronically and one stuff up and goodbye engine management system.
The unit also requires the use of an Autron programmer to set it up, and I would be surprised if a dealer of these units would just hand one over.

i spoke to the dealers and yeah that was the response i got. they dont sell the kits by them selfs to guys off the streets beacuse of how it fits and the programming tools they dont want you to stuff it up. which is understandable.
