Re: MUMSRIG to be a guinea pig again. Comp style tube bar!
Jessica is a committee member on the MTA 4x4 Committee and things such as this are discretionary on the owners behalf. She is one of the unsung hero's that are constantly fighting for us to keep our 4x4's on the road when we have so much opposition from some of the governing bodies.
General question* If you have lift in your Prado and are in WA have you had it permitted by the licensing centre?
Answer* If not then it is illegal. WA is the only state in Aus where if you have ANY suspension modifications then you are legally obliged to have the vehicle inspected and permitted for the lift or lowering. Any alteration from standard.
Sounds silly but they are the rules where as most other states are allowed to go 2 inches up without permit.
So to put it into perspective, how many WA PradoPointers have their lift permitted? Not many if any I would guess?
I for one am happy that this bar will provide the LOOK I'm after, I'm sure it will still provide more protection than a stock bumper and will also offer more approach angle than the factory Alloy Bar. I'm not trying to compare the bar to the ARB style bar, thats not what I am after. I want a comp looking bar much like what I had on the Feroza way back when but alteast this one will be proffesionally made and certified.
As for the fairlead rollers, once again, the bar is designed to use a flush fairlead with synthetic rope but it is upto the purchaser as to which set up they wish to use.

Still looks like it's leaning the wrong way. Did you ask them about the ADR's?
All that stuff behind the bar needs covering up with something I think...
Although I still think this looks pretty good, seeing it like this, I'm a bit concerned about the effects of a minor impact on either side of the centre section. Could make a big mess that an ARB or similar would deflect easily.
