Any progress with this Mumsrig? I'm keen to see how it turns out.

She goes in in the morning for fit up. I've started a new job and built my shed so with all that happening I just haven't had the time to organise to get her down for fit up. Stay tuned....

Anyways... MUMSRIG is now all fitted up. This bar is a little different to the Hilux and has XROX cut into it instead if the holes at the bottom.

There is another section to be added to the bottom which goes from the bar to the lower radiator support (much the same as the hilux one above). This will protect the radiator some more, although there is a pipe that goes left to right infront of the radiator which adds to the protection capabilities. Outback Accessories will also be looking at making up a brush plate (to protect the washer bottle) and that will be fitted up.

The bash plates and sliders will be happening in the next month or so... Steady steady.

I know it's not everyones cup of tea and this is an open discussion thread but please play nice









I tidied all of the wiring up and and painted the white sections satin black whilst Mike was fitting the bar up. This the before shot. Pretty messy.

Mike working his magic. This guy hand built the first prototype OKA and worked for them for a number of years building most of the OKA's you see on the roads today.. Pretty talented guy!!

Yes, it is very open looking from the side. But remember, this is not a touring bar. Thats off at the polishers getting a birthday :P

Looking pretty darn beefy there Mitch. So it the touring bar is getting a birthday does that suggest you are keeping it and swapping betweent he two bars? Sorry but I'm confused.

With the angle on the top hoop and the spot lights protruding how does it meet ADR?

That bar looks good......

only thing with mine is one of the side wings doesnt sit as flush under the headlights as it should...Ill have to remove it and have another look/adjust it before refitting it again....I was rushing abit when fitting it so this may have caused it....

The photos are a bit contrasty to see what's going on underneath. The earlier photos during the design process had quite a lot of scruffy bits on show, has that been cleaned up now?

The hoop is fine and was designed to meet ADR's but the spotties have now been relocated to the back holes so they sit flush with the hoop now. They have provided two different mounting points for this very reason.

It's up to the owner as to whether they go sticking spotties all over the show. I wired up another set last night until I get a set of 140 lightforces for inbetween the wing bars and i'll put a pick up. Don't rekon they would be legal where I mounted them but hey, that's my decision and nothing to do with XROX. :wink:

Yeah, thats correct Schaffer. It's not a massive job to swap them over so at this point we will keep the Sovreign Bar and swap between if we choose to..

When we fitted the bar the centre section was all mounted up securely after a trial fit of the wings, then the wings were put on nipped up and a bit of box section was put underneath the end of the wings and the hoist was lowered down until the desired level and fit was acquired, then the wings were tightened up. You could do the same thing with a jack and a piece of 4x2 or something using the weight of the vehicle to do the work for you... Too easy!

I'll take some close ups of the sides. They were very busy with lots of wiring and the washer bottle stood out like the proverbial, but I tidied all the wiring up and re-routed what I could (didn't have to extend anything as there was enough length) and then gave it a shot of satin black to blend it all in. I had to trim the inner splash gaurds (which were knackered anyway) and tucked them up and secured them into position. It all looks alot neater now and Outbakck Acc are looking at manufacturing a "brush" plate to help protect and cover up the washer bottle wiring and hoses that had to be left behind. I was also thinking of looking at a Hilux washer bottle as they are hidden better. Not sure if one will fit or not though?

I have been following for a while and couldnt wait to see the finished product. It is a really neat job, very nice. The MUMSRIG in pink really sets it off. (Being a girl I love the plate.)

Not completely my cup of tea, but it definitely makes it look tougher! Looks much higher now and definitely will have you stand out from the crowd!

I can't see why someone would want a comp bar for a Prado (which is not typically used for comp work), but hey, that's just me.

It will definitely turn my head if I see Mumsrig cruising around town.
