Anybody tell me is there an easy way to run aerial cable without boring holes and/or pulling things to bits ie dash etc.
Apprciate any advice - am rank amatuer !

My UHF is in the centre console. My aerial is on the front left corner of the ARB bar. From the front bar I ran the cable into the engine bay up behind the battery and everything else and through a largish rubber grommet that already had a loom going through it but had nipples  that you could cut off that gave another hole through the existing grommet. From the inside of the cabin deep up behind the glove box you might be able to reach with your hand (if you poke the cable through from the engine bay) and pull the cable through. I then ran the cable behind the carpet about 4 inches down from the top and around and tucked under the passengers side of the console. As it is a snug fit so far there hasn't been even a hint of the cable "falling down" out from under the side of the console.
In the engine bay I slipped some corrugated conduit over the coax for a bit of mechanical protection. Hope this helps.
Let me know if you need photo's, I may have some but I can only load them from home, damn blocked internet sites from work
Pretty much as above however i rant the coax in condit from the arial all the way around the back of the engine bay to the drivers side and went through the large grommet.
Oh i have one of those remote head units so the main box sits up under the steering wheel beding the panel.
So i can leave it on when camped power is taken off the aux battery
My ARB bar is the new one that does not have any tabs and i did not like the arial on the side wing so i used a stainless clamp and the areial is mounted on the left side of the top tube (a bit of fiddling is required so you can open the bonnet)
Dont list all ya mods, you will only be more upset when i get further
It's not hard to get the cable through the big grommet in the firewall.
Cut off the spare "nipple" in the grommet. then poke a stiff wire ( coathanger wire is ideal ) through from the engine bay side, so about a foot of it is visible in the passenger footwell. ( you'll need to take off the kick panels but that's a one minute job ).
Then securely tape your aerial cable to the wire on the engine bay side and gently pull it through.
As far as mounting the antenna goes, if you don;t have a bullbar you can use one of those bonnet lip mount brackets or L brackets but there's a risk these will damage your duco.
Thanks fellas I should be able to get somewhere with out doing to much damage.
As I said am a mechanical ignoramus but should be able to follow the info .
Also new to this forum and very impressed with it so far. There's a lot of know out there,
Thanks for your input.
When you post a new reply look over to the  right side of your screen and you should see all the different little faces under the heading Smilies. If you position your mouse pointer over each one it will give you a description of what each one represents. Just click on the one you want and it will appear in your message where your cursor currently is

forgive my ignorance, can you explain in more detail what u mean by 'cut of the nipple'

thanks. :?:
On some of the larger grommets there are spare blank entries. These are raised like a pimple or nipple. With a pair of side cutters you can snip off one of these raised bits giving you an independant cable entry through an existing grommet. Depending on cable size it will be a nice snug fit negating the need for any sealant though some might recommend you do (I didn't)
