Hi - I want to be able to load my 14ft canadian canoe onto the roof racks by myself - ie one person operation without damaging the roof. Bascially I want to be able to place one end of the canoe onto the rear roofrack bar and then push it up and forward till it sits on both racks.

The location of the Rear Roof rackbar is so far forwrd of the rear it is impossible to get the canoe it onto the bar with having it contact the roof.

Interested in any solutions???

Fold down bracket with intermediate roller attached to the rear bar, take the canoe at a lower point allowing it to miss the roof, then bracket ties up against canoe when loaded with a strap.

Simple as a couple hinge points on rear bar, couple lengths of alloy/steel whatever coming down to a lower rear bar with roller on it.
