    Hi Pete
If you default your unit you will have to adjust all your settings again including the fuel usage details as per pages 18 & 19 of your manual (mine adjustment is about 43%).

    • Thanks Pete, that was one of the things I thought of.

My adjustment has been around the same as yours.
      Good to hear from you.

      • All back to normal after I reset to default and changed various settings.

Let Dave know so he is aware it worked.

        • Hi, 1st post so go easy. I've done a search and can't find anything on the forum on this so I am assuming it is OK to post here as this is focused on ScanGauge. I have a 2005 VX Prado and am considering a gas conversion. Does anyone know if ScanGaugeII works with gas conversions :?:

Hi Dargan, I believe that the scanguage may now work on your model but I am not certan of this. If it does work on your car, it should also work when you do the gas conversion.

Regarding topics for posting, just use the search function at the top of the screen. It is not hard to find the correct areas to post in.
Welcome to Prado Point and hope to see you in the near future for a local trip out of Brisbane.

            • Thank you Gordon for the reply and the welcome, I hope we can meet in the future. I work in Brisbane but don't usually drive the Prado there. I'm new to 4WD and the forum, which I think is the best I've found for my needs especially as I'm researching products. The ScanGauge looks like a very good item. I guess it is the same thing the Grande has as standard? Nobody has posted on accuracy or otherwhise of that OEM unit.

Here's another ScanGauge question.... Can the information be downloaded into a computer so analysis could be done with it. eg; over an extended trip, an excel sheet analysis of information could be very interesting. From reading this whole thread it seems users write down details, which is OK but rather less efficient. Michael

              • I used to have a Jan 2005 build petrol VX Prado. I didn't run gas, but the ScanGauge II certainly worked on it. I believe there is a gas setting on the Scangauge.

Yes, the Scanguage II has an LPG setting for logging consumption.

                  • Just on the scanguage not firing up sometimes, I noticed the problem went away if I pause for a couple of seconds between the key in the ON position and actually starting the engine.

                    • ScanGaugeII with XGauge now displays kilowatts

Just a quick note the say that I've worked on making the ScanGaugeII XGauge display a kilowatt gauge instead of horsepower.

                      Here's how to do it:

                      Code:
                      * To start, from the HOME screen use MORE>MORE>MORE>XGAUGE
                      * Then in the top right select the number of the XGauge memory you want to use (0 to 24)
                      * Next <EDIT this will take you to the TXD screen
                      * Using the buttons next to + and - after each character the -> in the top right will move to the next character space.
                      * Enter 00 into the TXD screen and press OK> You will be taken to RXF
                      * Enter 400080000000 and press OK> you will be take to RXD
                      * Enter 0000 and press OK> you will be taken to MTH (math)
                      * Enter 000A001F0000 for Petrol vehicles or 000A00300000 for Diesel vehciles and press OK> you will be taken to NAME
                      * Enter kW and when you are finished press OK>
                      * Lastly press SAVE.
                      For details visit www.scangauge.com.au

                      Cheers,

                      • I recently added a scanguage II to my vehicle and thought for a few days i had escaped the dreaded "no boot-up" - until it also started to intermittently not fire up. Problem went away if i gave the go stick a little tap after the motor had started - just to give the alternator some more RPMs and volts out. Since doing that, no issue so must be voltage related.

That said, its a great little device. Still waiting to do a tank calibration - 180litres "thankfully" does last me a while.

                                Hi Yeti,

You've just highlighted a mistake I've made! ops: I did the programming work based on information available for petrol engines, the data requires different treatment for a diesel engined vehicle.

I will have to re-do the mathematics for the diesel at work tomorrow.

                                More to follow......stand by.

                                Drew.
