Re: fitting UHF
He Guys and Girls,
I have been using Selleys Clear silicon to attach my GME UHF remote head bracket and Mic bracket on my current and previous 4WD,s it works a treat and keeps holding on over rough terrain/corrugations. When you want to sell your vehicle, simply pry off the bracket with a spatula and finish clean off with metho, hit with amourall and Walla you wouldn't know a bracket was ever fitted to a fascia panel.
Some more tips when sticking/fixing a bracket or mount: tape or prop the item in position and allow to set for 24hrs, allthough I have set a mike bracket and only left it overnight before hanging the mike off it;
Pick sections of the vehicle facia offering near to full face contact with the bracket or mounting;
If a bracket does let go ensure you clean off the old clear silicon deposits before reapplying a new coating.
My Pootrol mike bracket stayed in place for 5 years held by this method.
