ARB Sahara Bar clone

Hi All,

Has anyone seen or fitted this copy Sahara bar:

Not sure if it is dodgy or any good. As the seller is in NSW I can't go and check it out in person, but he is showing 4 in stock and it is half the price of ARB and looks the same.

Interested if anyone knows anything about the bar or the seller.

I know nothing about it but it is interesting that they do not have a pickup option at all. Via postage or courier only.

mmmm if it was me I would be asking the seller for some information in black and white regarding crash testing and the likes. You need to consider if the construction of this bar affects the triggering of air bag sensors and if the manufacturer has tested for this. Also there is the old saying "you get what you pay for". ARB and the likes spend bucket loads of money making sure their products comply with relevant codes etc and are fit for purpose.

Looks can be deceiving...

Pretty bold ARB knockoff, I wonder how long it takes ARB to protect their design.

I got a response from the ebay seller regarding inspection

Call Michael on 0411331924. They are in Fairfield Sydney.

The damm cheek of them :shock: the photo at the top is one of my Prado with a genuine ARB bar fitted.

You can just make out the pradopiont sticker drivers side.

Hey Chuck,

When I started this post I was going to say that I thought the photo looked familiar, but I thought I may have seen too many Prado photos and was going mad. He has reversed it so the snorkel is on the wrong side.

Keen to hear from anyone who can check this out in Fairfield and let us know the story and what the bar looks like.

If you have enough cash to buy or own a Prado, most likely you would have enough cash to buy the best Bull bar on the market. Everyone likes to save a buck or 2 ex specially me, but I'm not the one to risk the safety of my family or the glamorous look of my 120. I'm heading to ARB (Even if I have to travel 500ks to find a customer friendly store).

Your not going mad and yes the photo is reversed but the photo is of a genuine ARB bar not a clone.

I particularly liked the "Disclaimer" at the bottom of the listing.
Should pretty much answer any questions you may have about compliance etc. If you use it and something goes wrong you're on your own...

OK, my "Dodgy-meter" is now at near overload, especially after discovering that this guy is using an unauthorised photo of Chucks rig with a GENUINE ARB bar, not his product.

Ordered a real ARB one today.

Chuck you should send him a rude note and get him to remove your rig from his brochure.

eyo guys..i got theat bar from sharjah (UAE) its even less than half price of ARB bars and its terrific been to the desert so many times with it and hit sand like never before and so far not a single dent....regarding the air bag sensors i guess even the ARB bars doesnt work with the sensors
