I am hell curious to see what a black powdercoated sovereign bar will look for the GXL. I am sick of seeing the dull and marked alloy and reckon the bar would look good gunmetal grey or black as I am also contemplating coating the wheels black as well on my beast over August. They lady is off to England for 3 weeks leaving dad at home to strip the prado and get some work on it done whilst still having the second car available to go to work. The suspension will be going in at the same time so woot!!! for the Flinders Red upgrades coming this way.

I sort did the same sort of thing a few years ago when my mum went to Europe...
Let's just say her sagged 100 series managed to lift 4 inches higher than before she left, and she was "not amused".....

Mmmm I think done correctly and by a reputable powdercoater the job will look schmick... now the question is Black or hammer tone.... and since mine is the GXL with the driving lights and installed LED's for blinkers she will look sexy me thinks...

Have been thinking about doing the powder coating thing myself, on the rims and bar will be interested in seeing some pics when its done.

I just paid 50 bucks to have my bar polished today, it loks like new again, but a sh!t of a bar to keep clean, next one will be a ARB or TJM powder coated, wash n wear bar.Originally posted by Golly[b]Rob[/b]

Yesem, wife likes it so it will be a goer, after the baby gets repaired after having a runin with a jackaroo a few weeks back, not much damage luckly.

Yep, I know a powder coating mob in Myaree who do pretty good work, they use to do all our alli work for our boat builder. A powder coater once showed me clear powder coating. I wonder if that is any better than the current finish of the Sovereign bar in keeping it shiny for longer ???Comment

Yeah but like anything gloss, it would wear down and dirty itself over time no doubt. Would be awesome for a clear type substance to use, but Im going the blackout look for the Red Devil to mean it up a tad.
