Re: Passenger seat stuck???
it's been a while since i did 1,
but i think they have 2 locking latches, so you need to release both.
mainly the problem that causes this, is someone has put too much weight on the outer part of the seat.
i do it myself when i stand on the seat to put stuff on/off roof racks.
you can try lifting the out part of the seat (might take a bit), but best to unlatch,
strip the seat and fix the linkages so it minimises this next time.
there is a post on PP about this. was about 12mths ago

Re: Passenger seat stuck???
Mine got stuck like this once before.
It worked again with a 'spirited' push from the upright position - seemed to unlock something in the mech
even now if I fold it slowly the base often does not release, but with a good hard whack it releases fine.
try giving the seat back a good shove from upright to horizontal (using the release handle of course)- ya never know!!!

Re: Passenger seat stuck???
Have to agree, that happened to me once (embarrassing) but when I got home I tried again with a pull on the lever and holding the lever and pushed the back at the same time and it released. Tough love!Dennis

I experienced the same problem and this is what I came across. Good Luck
Re: Stuck rear seat
After putting up with this problem for over twelve months and my sheer stubbornness not to give in to a repairer who quoted new cable and at least 4hrs labour ( big $$$$) I decided to have a crack myself.
Well after pull the plastic covers off, unclipping the fabric and seeing who the whole system works. All seemed to be in order with no brocken cables. However when the unlocking mechanism activated I noticed that it was catching on the metal frame of the seat. How could this happen you ask, it seems some boofhead (me) has used the seat for extra hight to tie something on the roofrack thus bending down the outer bar that the cushion wraps around and where the locking mechanism is attached to. Quick fix jimmy the bar back up freeing the locking mechanism, problem solved.
This might not be an interesting post but a note for vertically challenged p/pointers to not use the seat and get a ladder.
