Timmay5.7 has one - it's in his build thread although he chose to have the bar without the wheel carriers.

I haven fitted one but when i was up at tufftruck i had alook at the giveaway prado which had the rear bar fitted. The thing i notice besides the poor fit was that it retained the toyota tow bar which seems a bit silly as it hung down in its usual style and kind off defeated part of the purpose of these bars , that being improved departure angle whilst adding more protection.Their bar is similar to the kaymar bar in that it cuts the exist bumper and retains the side returns to the wheel wells.

I am looking into building one up for the 120s GX/standard later in year , i am currently in the process of assisting some mates in the making 3 off for GU patrols before they head off to the cape the 1st one finished ,powder coated and fitted, looks great , and has been fun in the Mens shed doing it.

I actually didn't mind the H/Reece tow bar on my old 90s, it gave me something for 1st contact with the ground [along with the tank guard]. My debate at this moment is that ,do i really need a rear bar ,i don't need it for the fuel carrying , would only be for carrying an extra spare, or maybe the water bottle. I do think they are a pain with the need to 1st swing open the carrier 1st before you can open the tailgate door but ,do offer good protection.
I think i might have a crack at some side steps 1st , we are just planning some more reasons to hang out in my mates shed and talk crap whilst consumming some non hydrating fluids but at the same time being creative, and whilst the women bring down more food which must be a sign of approval.

Can I come over ?? beer, food, and talking crap and probably more as they go down lol Im only at Penrith will only take me 30 minutes and promise to bring some extra dry lol............Yeah thats the only problem is having to open it up first before the tail gate (wouldnt bother me that much), I know it would drive my wife nuts mmmm just thinking then she will use her own car more instead of wanting to drive myn all the time.........Cheers Steve

I agree Roo. When I am out 4wding with a bunch of blokes all pumped up with testosterone it does cross my mind to ensure my rear end is protected. I do have a problem with "swinging" anything, especially if it causes strain!

On a more serious note I will post some pics here and on my build up. The unit gets fitted on 14 April

That's the same as the one you linked to in post number 1 of this thread. I thought MLC confirmed it doesn't wrap all the way round with them?

Yeah it is the same one I mentioned at the beginning, the guy I spoke to said it def goes to the wheel well. But just looking at the feedback on ebay and it doesn't look good.

On another note, I was speaking to the powerful 4x4 engineer at the brissy 4x4 show. He said he would look into making the bar go right around to the well.. I'll call him today to see how he's going. I think he will want to see a few people interested before he makes one.

Just heard back from Powerful 4x4 and the rear bar and carrier for 120 series did not pass muster and at this stage they are not going ahead with them.

My MCC bar is fitted up. There is some pictures on my build page, but it has some small tweaks before being a completed job. Ie reverse camera relocation, reverse light connection and some custom trim is required.

I know you are no where near Melbourne, but i am currently in the process of getting a custom bar done by a mob call Raslarr. Seen their stuff and its pretty sweet. If i knew you were looking for bars i would of suggested this joint. Anyways. too late now you have your own on the way!
                            Cheers.
Did you end up getting the Raslarr Engineering bar fitted Hibbo?

Any picutures of the finished product?

Also, how much was it all up?

                            Steve

Not yet mate, hopefully in the next 2 weeks. I am waiting for a call back sometime this week to book a date.

The bar (I think he said 6mm thick steel?) with 2 spare wheel carriers, black powder coated, LED brake lights, LED work light on a pole behind spare wheel, 2 LED spot lights in the bar and a recovery point (maybe) will cost about 2500 fitted. Will get more exact pricing once it's all booked in and he knows exactly what i want. Will post some pics once I have it.

                                Hibbo.

I may be misunderstanding but if the worklight attached to the rear of one wheel arm, then you will always need to close that arm to direct the spot to the rear. I plan on still installing my worklight on the rear door which will stay closed but so I can leave the wheel arms open for easier access whjen camped for the night.

                                Cheers.
