    • Thanks, now another thing to ad to the list of things i'd like to do to the mighty 120.

Just curious if you're still covered with insurance due to cutting the ribs? and when you do the mod do you need to supply a engineers cert?
apologies if this has already been covered.

      • Hi All,

Has anybody in MEL fitted a scoop? Looking for recommendations for a panel beater to fit the scoop.

        • Hi All,

Andrew - Your Posts #37 & 38 shows the rubber seal, where did you get that from?
Also, what other parts / bits are required?

The pictures in those posts are not mine, I just reproduced them with the correct links to show the thumbnail images for Bushbasher.

            Cheers Andrew

            • My OEM scoop came with the seal and bolts. You need to buy the nuts, 10 I think and they are about $18 worth at Toyota.

Mine gets installed on the 3-4th Jun and while I'm at it get the bonnet re-sprayed (clear coat).

              • Hi All,

My scoop came bare - No Seal, but 4 bolts for memory.
I say that as it is in the shed in the back 2.5 acre paddock, so I can see it now.

The seal is the original already located above the intercooler and attached to the bonnet. You don't need to make that hole any bigger. We're only opening up the outside skin of the bonnet and re-directing the airflow.

                    • Considering this custom jobby over the Hilux. Yes it needs to be fitted, painted, unwrapped and properly positioned. Thoughts?
