  • Rear bumper repair

    Hi all,
Does anyone know a good way to repair a dented rear bumper? The plastic has popped in when the car was reversed into a stump. Had a bit of a go at popping it back out without any luck. Not sure if I should just try giving it a couple of whacks from the inside with a soft mallet or if anyone knows a better way to pop it back out.
    Thanks.

Remove the rear bumper which is not hard. Pour boiling water over / into the dent then pop it out and let it cool.

Haven't tried that my self but heard it works well.

Failing that I can help you out with a good steel rear bar

    Cheers Andrew

Apply a bit of heat with a heat gun or hairdryer and pop it out while the bumper is warm. Wont be perfect but it will look a bit better. Of course if you have a damaged rear factory bumper you now have a reason to go for a rear bar with tyre carrier!
