Remove small trim plate (wood grain or silver). Screws underneath.

It is really easy just remove the silver trim by popping it off the dash using a flat screw driver,

You will then have exposed the securing screws which you simply remove with a screw driver,

Then just pull the vent out.

Just thought I'd add some words for the cautious. First, removing the trim requires a bit of effort, to me it felt close to the effort required to bust the trim. So I slid a flat-bladed screwdriver right behind it, all the way across, and used that to lever it off (spreads the load so it's less likely to break). That reveals two hex-headed fasteners. The outside one is the self-tapper that holds the grille in place; the inner one (a bolt) holds the bottom part of the dash cover, you don't need to remove that. Once the self-tapper is removed, pull on the outer lip of the grille, it will probably come easily about 6mm, then again you can slide a flat screwdriver under to help to lever it off. In this case, it's important to work from the outside, because the inner edge has a couple of spring tabs; by angling it out they come free, if you try to pull it out evenly you'll be pulling directly against them - they will probably come free, but there are other possible outcomes. Alternatively, if you can figure out where they are you could probably slide a thin screwdriver down and depress them.
