Have looked all over this site but can't find if anyone has worked out how or if a high lift jack can be used. Any ideas? Neil

Re: Soverign bull bar and high lift jack
Just picked up a near new hi-lift of fleabay for cheap and I've got jacking points on the rear but nothing up front. I see you can't use the soverign bull bar but recommend the Lift-Mate accessory for the wheel. Question is can you use these on the standard Prado alloys or are these for steel rims only?
Cheers

Re: Soverign bull bar and high lift jack
Hi Corbo, I bought a lift mate as I don't have jacking points either. I believe in their little manual it states they're ok for alloys. They have a dense rubber padding which goes up against the wheel. I think there's more chance of denting a steel rim (which I have) than there is cracking an alloy with it. It works well for me but not perfect for every situation - if you belly out, it takes a lot longer to get out as you need to keep piling stuff under the wheels until it's up high enough. If you're simply bogged due to wheels, it's great as you don't have to jack out all the articulation before the wheel comes off the ground. Here are some pics from our Robe trip at easter which might give some idea of it's use.Originally posted by CorboJust picked up a near new hi-lift of fleabay for cheap and I've got jacking points on the rear but nothing up front.
