    Re: Touch up paint

    G'day Folks,

Had to take my Side Steps off this weekend to straighten them out after last weekends effort at Binnies Rd - Ripley.
I soon realised that the passenger side steps were scratched quite badly and required some painting.
Contrary to my previous post about the side step paint colour being Holden Gun Metal Grey, this is not the case. ops:
I had repaired them some time back and used a colour that was close from some tins I had lying around, but I couldn't exactly remember the Colour!

This time round I went down to the auto shops to take a better look at the selection on offer.
After trying a couple of stores, I found one that's a damn close match. So close infact, I reckon it's 99% to the original colour.
The Paint Brand/Colour I used was :- HOLTS Dupli-Color, IRON GREY. Paint Code DSH62
I purchased the 150g tin for about $13 from REPCO.
It's also important to buy a tin of CLEAR and give them a quick coat to protect the colour.
After it's all dry, just give them a quick polish to finish.

    Hope This Helps

      Re: Touch up paint

Thank you, I need to do a bit of touch up on my rear mudguards and this is what I was looking for.

        Re: Touch up paint

Well the aforementioned Holts colour doesn't seem to match the mudflap/spat plastic bits on mine. This seem to be a different colour slightly to the side steps.
Seems to be a slightly lighter colour with hint of bronze in the dark grey...
Has anyone found a match for these ?
        Cheers, Wayne
