  • Water in back door

    Hi all

I drove back from Caloundra to Brisbane in torrential rain last week. When I arrived "home" I opened the Prado's back door and heard sloshing noises. There are three plastic plugs that are almost waterproof and I had to remove the end one to get the door to drain successfully. I reckon that over half a litre of water ran out.
I have two questions - 1. Why did I have to remove one of the plugs and 2. how did the water get in there in the first place?
    Anyone else had this?

    Cheers - John

      Thanks MDS69

I should have done a search first :?
I reckon that the reason the water couldn't get out was that red dirt plus water = mud. The plastic plugs only just let clean water out.
I have read the thread you referred me to and still can't work out where that much water got in in the first place.
If I am passing a Toyota dealer and feel like being messed around and told stories then I may call in and see what they have to say.
Maybe I should avoid rain
BTW, years ago I was given a new Maserati to test drive and its doors filled up with water too. So the Prado is in good company.

      Cheers - John
