    Sidesteps - Where to buy?/

    HI Guys,

    My prado is currently side-step less due to some reshaping which took place over the last couple of months so i tried to remove them to straighten them up. Whilst i like the stance - i do get a little worried going off road without them.

    Does anyone have any idea of any place in Aus that make a good set which attach to the chassis? Been to ARB but not sure if i wanted any plastic in that area.
    Some research has shown me a set made by ATS? in Victoria? (see picture) These look great - do they perform well and how much am i looking at for some pre-fab steps?

    I have a set of these. They are now supplied by Auto-Craft, Darren is a member of the forum (assassinoffroad). They sit higher and are a bit wider than the factory steps. I did have a few problems with getting them to fit up in the first instance but haven't had any problems since. From memory, they cost $1050 including shipping to Cairns.

      got any shots from underneath? how they mount, how they protect the sills etc.

        I've got the same as Kevin, good steps and can be plumbed for air as a bonus.

        This shot shows the side steps protuding level with the front flares, the factory ones only came level with the panels, this means that in theory should you have a little slide or bump, it should assist to minimise damage to your panel areas.

          Excuse my ignorance here but by plumbing for air does that mean you can use the rails as an air reservoir for lockers OR is there something that I'm missing? If it is a reservoir then what sort of capacity?

            probably holds about 5 litres each side, so fine for lockers but not so good for most air tools. There is plenty of space between the chassis mounts though to fit a decent air tank if one so desired.

                  I do support the forum - PP is one of the best sites on the net. I have previously bought items through the forum, and will again as soon (when I get AMTS Bash Plates) but in this case I'm getting the Autocraft (also I believe darren from autocraft provides a fair bit of info for people on the forum) ones and was wondering if anyone has them plumbed up with air.

                      Their is a thread on here somewhere with the ATS sliders with air plumbed in, might take a bit of searching to find it. I have previously run an air tank on the Prado, I found it to be of no value at all so I got rid of it.

                      BTW, I understand that Darren is no longer on the forum as he was banned.
