Hi Folks,
A slight tale of woe. The GLW had the Prado for the day and had parked out the front of the house she was visiting. Reasonably quiet side road, however there is a school bus run that goes done the road. And yes, the bus went through and clipped the mirror. So the mirror is left hanging there by the wiring loom with some shattered pieces of the bus's indicator on the road but no bus in sight.
Damned buses.
I rang the local dealer and he quoted me $612 for a replacement mirror fitted! So I rang around Melbourne town and found Japwreck in Keysborough would sell me a new replacement for $225+GST. He's getting the mirror in for me tomorrow so hopefully that will all be good. I think that I am getting a complete mirror assembly replacement.
In the mean time I needed to get the old mirror off. This link http://www.kwmuth.com/techsupport/pdfs/21000890.pdf got me 90% of the way there but neglected to mention the screw that is under the windows control panel. You just need to pop the control panel up and remove the screw and the door trim comes away easily.
I'll let you know how the rest of the story goes.
Cheers,
Tim
