recovery or tie downs

Evening Everyone

Just wanted to ask if the 3 pionts on the new D4D GXL are actual recovery piont or merely tie downs ?

I was under the impression they are recovery pionts but would like that confirmed before finding out the hard way ops:

Compare the tie downs on Embi's VX (2005) to my (2006) ones in the pics. The 2006 apparently are now rated as recoveries, and the pics prove they are a lot more thought out than a simple tie down hook.

I would fit a stronger one to the rear, the Generic $20 ones are strong enough and bolt up to the same holes (use HI-tensile bolts only!!).

Reason for inquire was i had read that post on putting in new recovery pionts so i rocked up to ARB to get what i needed etc.

ARB said not required as they are recovery piont in the new models - and that why ARB doesnt include recovery pionts on there bull bar now.

Decided to check with you guys !!!! Will look further into the rear piont now you have highlighted that one as a 'MUST DO".

But what about us blokes with the older model that doesn't have the new rated ones??? another reason to not get an ARB bar i guess!
