  • Pad and disc replacement for a 120

Well I had my wheels and discs off the other day and it time for pad replacement.
After reading through the threads it seems a good choice is either Bendix 4x4 or Bendix Ultra premium.
If you have experience with these, which of the two do you prefer? Anyone see good pricing in Brissy lately on these.

Handbrake shoes seems to still be OK. But I have some groves in my rotors, so either a skim or some new rotors.

    Cheers
    Robert

    Robert,

Not totaly confident in this but do beleive the Bendix Ultra are just above if not the same as genuine. Best price is 'Slacks Creek Brake and Clutch' 14 Herbert St SLACKS CREEK QLD 4127. Ph: 07-3808 8193. Pose the question to them.

I priced around and finally purchased brakes for the missus CRV some months back and they had the best knowledge and price.

      Check ebay as well.
I bought Bendix F&R cheaper than I could get them in a shop front.

Not sure which side of town you are but when I did mine I picked up front and rear for $90 a pair from REPCO Enoggera. Haggle though. Oops that was $60. Had to redo the rears within 20,000km due to shop incompetence...

              Michael,
That totally slipped my mind sorry. I'll catch up next week with you. I also did some damage on the last trip to one of the centre retaining pins on one of the handbrakes shoes. Stuffed if I know how that happened, as it is well protected. I spent the weekend under the car trying to work out where the intermittant noise was coming from. Looks like the pin is streched somehow, forcing the centre spring to rub on the axel shroud.
              Cheers

Well to round the thread out. I went with bendix 4x4 Pads on Michael's suggestion.
All done today. The car stops and brakes like a dream. Thanks mate.
ps. Handbrake is perfect. I learnt something today as well!
