              When I owned a 90 series I had a similar issue when I fitted the white sunraysia style steel wheels. They rubbed against the calliper. I took a flap wheel on the angle grinder and slowly polished away enough meat to gain the needed clearance. Never had a problem with the calliper after that.

                I'd be taking the wheels back to where you got them & making them sort out the issues.
                Shouldn't be touching with the proper rims & I wouldn't even be entertaining the thought of smaller calipers just for a set of rims!
