It depends on how your rotors are, would pay to have them machined as a minimum, and depending on how old your brake fluid is if it hasn't been changed in a couple of years it certainly would be a good idea

Just about to fit some DBA T2s slotted rotors and Bendix pads to the Grande, anyone know if these rotors have to be put on in a certain direction... ie aligned with the normal forward movement of the tyre? The instructions dont mention anything.

Yes, they should have a right and left sticker on them

I did mine (yet to upload my video install) and they are very good. I also replaced the handbrake pads and gave the vehicle under body a good clean.

In post #1 what is the purpose & function of the Brake Wear Indicator? Does it give an audible or visual indication of worn pads.
                        You can't help good equipment.

[QUOTE=gxl_d4d;448711]I got a set of Bendix 4wd pads today. They have a shim clipped to the back of the pad. Do I still need to use the shim that's installed with the factory pad or do I discard this one?[QUOTE]

I too would like to have a conformation on the above question.
The original post and pictures where dated about 2008 and did not look to have the new shims attached to the replacement pads.
Can anyone that has recently fitted new BENDIX 4WD disc brake pads suggest whether to fit with OEM shims or just the BENDIX pads with their own shims.
                            Cheers

Well I have just had the above pads fitted two weeks ago,
The original shims were not used so I will be watching the replies to the above question with great interest.

Hi Foxclan. After your phone call I did some homework and asked Dr Google. Basically the shims are there to stop noise and rattling which we spoke about. But the shim's also act's as a thermal barrier to reduce radiation of heat through to the calipers. But they go on to say that there's no lose of effectiveness of the brake's with out the shim's fitted. If it was me I would be fitting them with the shim's as the boffins at Toyota put them there for a reason. If you need a hand give me a call mate
