Tekonsha P3 - Installation Angle

Hi Guys

I have the auto sparky fitting my P3 tomorrow and he is insisting that it must be mounted completely level on all axis. The installation instructions specify that it must be facing forward (ie in the direction of travel) and it must be horizontal (when looking at the face of the controller) but it does not mention if it must be horizontal when looking from the side.

Perhaps my searching wasn't thorough enough but I couldn't find any reference here about it. I know alot of guys are fitting it in the ash tray but I want to try and mount it to the left of the steering column, which will put it on a 45 degree angle.

Your expertise would be appreciated.

My P3 install,from memory it doesn't need to be level front to back just side to side.

Correct D4D, mine is located identical to yours. The P3 compensates for inclined installation.

That is what I thought as well. Great photo. That is exactly where I want to install mine.

I am assuming that it works fine in that position.

Have you guys seen this post with spare ashtray? If you only use controler limited times you can remove controler and not even know it's installed.
