After 11,000kms I am happy to report the valve is a good thing.

The only annoying thing is the popping sound when you throw it back in neutral and its only for a few seconds (the line pressure is double the stock setting and one of the relief valves spin out alittle.)

On road the shift is great and constant. Just push yr foot down on it snaps into gear well and kicks back heaps better than stock. Off road, driving the truck manually in the forest roadways is unreal and you always have the right gear for the location. It engine brakes alot better than stock and this feature will be massively better once Damo wires in my manual lock up switch.

All in all, bloody happy.

Any futher developments with this? Is it still driving as good now?
Did you notice any change in fuel economy?
Loaded vs Unloaded feel?
I'm looking at getting mine done in a couple of months, so I'm trying to find out as much as I can.

I had the Nomad fitted to my 4speed auto in February before a trip to Tassie, towing a Tvan camper. Highly recommend it. Sometimes the change from 1st to 2nd is a little sharp but depends on how you accelerate. Fitted a Roo systems chip at the weekend to go with 3"exhaust. The overall combination of Nomad, exhaust and chip are really good. Expensive but has transformed the Prado. Much nicer to drive now.

Valve body up grade

Hi All,

Would like to do this upgrade sometime, with the lockup switch. Has anyone fitted this to a D4D 5peed Auto? If So how was the improvements, especially off road, going down steep hills is always a worry in an Auto, im hoping to improve on this.
