$550 for a non-Toyota CV joint (outer) fully fitted. Original boot had been split after fouling a stick on a forest trail. Sand got in, so new CV was ordered. No problems so far. Touches any wood nearby...Rob.

Forget the ebay CV joints, they are made in China and are too soft, whick will break easerly.
If there is nothing wrong with your current CV's, leave them be, 150k is nothing for them, they will last another 200k before being anywhere near worn out.
You can get remanufactured CV's from specialised CV services, all they are are rebuilt CV's, so basically the balls, and cage are new, and housing is rehoned, new boots are put on. They are around the $300 mark fitted, they are also about 90% the strength of original, if you want the same stength then you need to go genuine or there is also aftermarket that get used in off road racing, but they aint cheap, about $1000 per side, but if you use them, they will be stronger than the diff, so if anything was to break, it will be the diff.
The choice is yours, but personally I would leave the ones in it for now, until they start to click or get sloppy.97 VX Grande, with front & rear air lockers, ARB Sahara winch bar with tigers 11 winch, 2" EFS lift, 265/75/16 Achilles Desert hawk XMT, and more.

It is always interesting what comes from asking.Obviously the mechanic that I got the info from is other after more business or he knows more than every one out there. He suggests regressing them at 150k.?.PradoPoint GTG 2014 - Iconic High Country - Victoria

Regreasing is one thing but replacing at 150K. No, not unless there is a problem with the existing CVs. I wouldn't bother regreasing either unless the boots need replacing.Declan: 1997 GXL 4.5 Auto 80 series on LPG, ARB bullbar, 2" OME lift, 32" MTZ, GME UHF, rear ARB locker, Kaymar spare wheel carrier
