  • Tighten Propeller Shaft Bolts?

The service manual calls for the propeller shaft bolts to be tightened regularly, every 10,000 km from memory. Has anyone ever found a loose one? My rig has over 210,00 km on it and I've never had an issue with this.

To perform this job correctly I'd imagine you'd have to loosen them all then torque back up to specification. I doubt Toyota do this. Just wondering what others think.

What's the torque setting they should be set to?

      Hi Rob,
Torque settings for the prop shaft are 88Nm, or 65 ft/lbf.

I took mine off recently to fit my rear locker and they were as tight as a nuns... well you get the idea.
Judging from the condition of the bolts, they dont look as if they've ever been touched.
