Yeah, I realise it comes down to who you are dealing with... I guess I was suprised that TJM's head office were the ones who never responded. The problem wasnt with the local outlet, it was a product issue coupled with non current info on their website. I wont go into it here. I thought they should know about it and couldnt get any response. Emails were never replied to despite this assurance "A helpful TJM staff member will then respond to your email as soon as possible." and phonecalls never returned (I'll get someone from sales to call you back).

No doubt the majority of their product is good, but I cant say much for the service from Geebung. I just wont spend any money with a company that cant even return a call or an email.

So as I type, my new D4D is being kitted out by the local ARB shop and as many of you know very well, it doesnt stop there.. theres always room for more kit right?

    hehehe

Also remember that management often changes.

Even though noone got back to you in the past, thats not to say that is a true reflection of the companies ethos.

Hi all, I have found the service in Caboolture TJM to be really good and friendly but can't say the same for the local ARB rep. I prefer the ARB products but for the price I find it difficult to spend where they seem disinterested or too busy to bother.

It is a shame that in this day and age where peoples purchases and experiences are influenced by information found on the internet that bad customer service still seems to be a big problem in this industry.

I guess i am very lucky that both the ARB and TJM blokes are a nice bunch of guys to deal with.

Agreed. There is a wealth of good products out there. Unfortunately there are some sales people who have gotten by on the product selling itself and they have arrogantly moved away from customer service - is this a familiar story Toyota ?

Aaawww crap - I'm probably gonna get sued now

I guess thats what makes forums like this so fantastic. No smoke and mirors, no bullsheet. Just a wide variety of opinions based mostly on peoples experiences, allowing a great opportunity for informed choice...

What would the cost be to get TJM to install?

Just got off the phone to TJM Coopers Plains and he quoted me $300 to fit the locker, a further $325 to fit the compressor and plumb it in.
If I get him to supply the rear locker he quoted $1250.
So a total supply and fit a rear locker to a 120 series Prado by TJM Brisbane is $2095.
                        Hope that helps Matt

Les, I had twin ARB lockers installed in March this year for 3300 flat. The price includes the large compressor with tyre inflation kit. I had mine installed by ARB Capalaba.

I would be interested in firstly the standard ARB price for comparison and the group deal for the Prolocker. A lot of hard earned to fork out eh....
                            Lets hope it is substantial.

I just bought a ARB locker and had the locker fitted else where not ARB (due to a broken diff) and the compressor and wiring fitted by ARB .
ARB diff lock to suit Prado rear and parts in box including switches……….. $1219.00
To fit and supply small compressor with switched mounted and wired……….$317.00

It cost me $ 1385.00 to get the old diff exchanged with the new one with new bearings and crown wheel and pinion.
Not the cheapest option. Let’s hope no one else finds there wheel bearing are stuffed at $1150 fitted per side. I’ve got two to replace.
I tried out on the weekend and love it. I should have installed it when I bought the car as it makes it a far better 4wd.

                              Russ (now with a locker)

Who is installing it for you Russ?
A place called Differentail &Transmission Specialists in Jolimont.
He does ARB's work if they get problems.
