The pics that you are showing is of the speedo sensor being on the rear of the gearbox which is none ABS

With ABS it has 1 x sensor on all 4 x wheels then the data is sent to the ECU.

The none ABS only reads from one sensor on the rear of the gearbox.

The pictures that you are showing is of the none ABS.

    Hi Skywalkerrun,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunatly that means my model is not compatible with the plug and play yellr speedo calibrator. And the company doesnt have specific instructions for the ABS model prados. So there is no way I would work it out myself with out breaking something haha. Back to the drawing board.

May i also add that it is important to not let the propeller shaft separate from the slip-joint on the propeller shaft as the yokes are alined opposite to each other to keep the shaft balanced and swivel freely... if you have the need to separate the slip joint on the propeller shaft then it is imperatively important to mark it first before separating.
Oh-oh. I marked the shaft to pinion flange joints but I just pulled the slip joint apart and didn't mark it.

Stuff it Dave let Toyota deal with it. If it comes back vibrating then they can fix it. I know you pulled it apart but you pulled it apart because you had to get onto a truck because of their shit injector set up which has stuffed up a motor at such low klms ?? Dont like your chances of getting it back in the same spot unless there is some form of scratch or some thing from the spanners when you undid it ??? Cheers Steve

          Extended off topic thread!!.... Lmao

          Gday Bushbasher

(Jokes aside!). Sorting your tail shaft yoke alinement out isn't that hard really! (Just more work co's no marks pr-dissasemble!).

As you know both front and rear tail shafts are obviously different lengths and the slip joints are still bolted to the flange cups so they can not be be mixed up to the wrong tail-shafts!

When you re-connect the slip joint back to the tail shaft all's you have to do is aline the yoke that is welded to the tail shaft exactly in-line with the the yoke that is welded to the the slip joint (center line to center line). you can't really off set them as the splines on the slip joint (Guessing 2mm).

An easy way to a-line them perfect is to use string! (From center yoke to center yoke... Once done that if the the yokes are perfectly a-lined the string will run perfectly parallel with the center of the tail-shaft tubing).

If you have fitted it 180 deg out of alinement you will know as there will be a vibration so just rotate the yoke on the slip joint 180 deg and that's it! ..... Just less the hassle if had of marked first but no big deal..... You will know next time ay! Lol

The torque setting for the nut and bolts that bolt the tail shaft to the flange hubs is (88Nm - 65Ft-lbf) but i normally do them "FT"..... (#uking tight) Lol

Hope this puts your mined at ease.

          Cheers

Am I expecting too much to think my Toyota dealer will re-assemble them correctly seeing as how it's sitting in their workshop in bits at present?

Thank you Skywalkerrun for your info about the speedo sensor. I have been looking for that little sucker for two years. Both last year and last week while returning down the beach at Fraser Island I temporarily lost my speedo indication after going through water, I've read my manual and searched for the sensor on the transfer case and couldn't find it, it obviously was never there as mine is a GXL with ABS, you've done me a great favour and saved my sanity.

              Regards,
