    hi All

Did a little search but all topics are quite old. About 140km's on the beast and about 40,000 of those towing a heavy van and now my 08 prado could use a new clutch. I see that the 08 has a different clutch than previous models. Some one recommended a Exedy Safari Clutch however speaking to them today they dont do the Safari for my model. Apparently the 08 has a"pull" type...

Exedy do do a clutch for it however not sure if i should just go genuine. someone has said the new genuines hare a bit tougher that originals in my model

I am surprised for such a popular vehicle there are limited clutch options. any suggestions are appreciated

    Cheers

Stick with standard. All the heavier ones are is more spring pressure.
Unless you are having trouble with slipping then you don't need more spring pressure.
Whatever brand you like, they are all ok.
Genuine, Excedy, ci or highway - perhaps let the $$$ steer you.
I find they all get noisy thrust bearings sooner or later when used off road.

Try Northern brake & clutch in Kensington, Victoria for a quote. I got an exedy safari clutch for my 1kz from these guys at a great price and the same service. Not affiliated with them in any way just a very happy customer

I second that, I bought a safari tuff for my 1kz through them. I opted for the h/duty over standard as I too tow quite often. It doesnt really drive any different with the h/duty clutch. I am very happy
