  • 120 driveline vibration

    Hi all
I am looking to purchase a 120 series GXL CRD auto. I took one for a test drive that ticked all the boxes. The only issue is there is a vibration, possibly driveline vibration, it only vibrates from near a standing start, and when accelerating while turning left or right, like when turning left or right 90 deg into another street. The vibration ends once the wheel is straightened. The vibration appears to be coming from the car and not felt in the steering
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is this common. Should I be concerned about it. Is it easily fixed?
    Thanks

What's the edges of the tyres like? Scalloped?
Are they highway or muddie type of tread..
That's where I would start looking first.

      Dear Piggy
I have the same problem as Mr Jkspinner described where the vibration seems coming from the rear defferential. Recently I've changed the rear deferential seal (where the mechanical hammered the penion flange to disassemble it) that coused a bearing damage where I replaced already and I get red of the sound. At this service I changed the rear diff oil with shell 90 oil (I could not find LSD oil as my vehicle diff has a sticker saying LSD oil only)

Now the vibration is coming on standing start with and without placing the 4wd stick on HL mode.
But it seems the vibration is more serious whin HL mode is on.

      Please advice
