4sp 2004 auto noise at 20 km/h

Hi guys,

Today when driving I noticed a new noise. Very faint, but only evident at 20km/hr. I had to turn the radio off and beg the kids to stop talking to hear it. Doesn't seem to matter whether on the throttle or brakes. Definitely not a whine. In terms of pitch, would best be described as like a tug boat horn.....but barely audible. Hard to pick, but sounds more like coming from the back rather than front.

Any ideas?

I would check out your hand brake shoes, check that the retaining pins haven't fallen out.

Could be a lot of other thing though!

Hmmm.. I did replace the rear brakes two weeks ago when I serviced it....

My wife thinks that's harsh. Still, you can't hear much when you are in the back row....
