Hi all,
Been a while since visiting the site, but just wondering if anyone with one of the early, pre D4D 120 series 1KZ TD engine has experienced the following.
When shifting down from Drive 'D' to lock into 3rd for a bit of engine braking on descents, I have noticed that there seems to be resistance when moving from 3rd back to 'D'.
I will stress here that I do not do this when still on the descent or when the drive line is loaded up. This is occurring when on the flat at the bottom and driving away normally - not gunning it etc.
The car has 240k on it and hasn't had a hard life, with servicing as per the log book.
Is this a sign that the gearbox needs a look at or any ideas what is going on?
It just feels like it isn't going to go back into 'D' without a bit of effort, and generally that means something ain't right.
Thanks for you time and input.
