Reverse Gear Shudder

I have a 2007 D4D Auto and somtimes there is a shudder immediately I finish reversing, with foot on brake and r5everse gear is still engaged.

Has anyone had experience of this and cab advise what might be the cause?

I was just searching this site as I have just started getting the same shudder! In reverse only but usually only when cold.

Obviously no other responses yet but I'm keen to find out the cause as well. Mine is GXL 2007 D4D auto.

I agree, but I like to know if anyone else has a problem first as it usually helps with dealer negotiations.

I have just waited 5 months for my 4th CD/MP3 :shock:

Hi I have a 2007 D4D auto, i am also getting a shudder when sitting stationary in drive . Toyota so far can't find a cure.

We also have this shudder when in drive, had it for about 10,000km now only when cold and when the car stops for the first time in the morning at the lights up the road. Toyota response: Live with it, we've got no idea :evil:

Interesting that Toyo would deny knowing something :lol: :lol:

My service rep was quite forthcoming .... that some of the autos develop a vibration through the torque converter. He claimed that Toyota was aware of it .... but in their assessment it did not compromise driveability or longevity.

I'm giving it a run for this batch of 10,000 Km ... then I want them to take another look and perhaps change the trans fluid, or even change the torque converter over, and see if that makes a difference :lol:
