Stuck in high range

Hey, I have an 08 diesel manual. It is stuck in high range, the light is of on the dash but it is definitely still engaged as it spun the front wheels on the grass and chirps the inside front if i corner quickly to get the weight off it. Anyone heard of this problem before?

The Prado 120 is a constant all wheel drive, does the light go on when selecting HL (High Locked)
