  • Auto sluggish when it's cold

    Hi all
When I go to back my 05 GX auto up the driveway on a frosty morning, nothing happens. With the foot flat to the floor, the car will slowly start moving over the first 30 to 60 seconds until, when I suspect the transmission has warmed up , everything is normal.

Just had a week up in the snow and it took the full minute to come right.

    Any clues?

something major is wrong! Does it do it going forward as well?

My Monaro had a similar problem (going forwards) and the auto needed rebuilding as the bands (I think that's what they are called) were worn.

Suggest you take to a transmission expert, which may or may not be Toyota!

Sounds like a trans issue with the bands posisble.

Might be worth seeign toyota to see what fault codes are being logged and have the trans serviced.
I would also have the fluid changed.
