  • auto gearbox lag

hi all i have a question and it goes like this.

in any auto gearbox when you put yout foot down hard the car takes like 5 seconds to spool up and figure out what its going to do sometime its to late and you might get bogged, not to mention i dont like how the car sits for a while then revs its box out.

my question is how can you make the power delivery quicker and elliminate that lag.

is the lag still there if you kick it down a cog using the lever? could always drive it like a manual to make sure it's in the gear you need!

Sclater, If you are referring to off roading as you mentioned getting bogged, i drive it like a manual especially on soft sand etc.

ok all driving techniques aside, if im talkin bout spendin money i heard thier is some mod/replacement electronic controler for the clutch plates or something like that, i was told between $2k-$5k and gives you apparent instant hook up , has anyone heard anything like this or know whats out thier.

im also looking at buying a v6 petrol prado and putting either the hilux supercharger on it or one of the bullet type ones. what further changes to an auto gearbox would need to be made to help all those extra ponies get the the wheels.
